Bourn of an obsession with all things readable, this blog began as a way for me to not only show a little of myself, but to provide an outlet.
A writer in my own right, I am always looking for someone to read my works. I love knowing that my writing meant something to someone else--that it had an impact. Many of the authors I review on here don't know that I exist, but those who do hopefully understand what I'm trying to accomplish. I don't have the same shiny credentials as an editor of a multi-million dollar publishing company (yet), but I'm one of the people who count the most--I'm part of the audience.
My friends always ask me for good reading material. It's always been difficult to filter through my memory to find what they could possibly be interested in. This blog, however, turned out to be the perfect way for me to organize everything where not only my friends could find it; but those scouring the internet for reading materials.
I've tried to make everything clean and organized--a site where anyone can find anything I've had the chance to read. Hopefully, I was somewhat successful.
Above all, I do my best to remain honest. While I can't stand critics who criticize for the sake of it, I believe it's equally as bad to say simply, "It's good." I hate it when people do this to me, so I do my best not to do it in return.
I've gone back and read some of my older posts. One of the first thing I noticed was that my reviewing style has definitely changed. I want to go back and fix things, but I have to remind myself that I'm a writer too. My style has changed over the years and I shouldn't be embarrassed about what I've accomplished. (I may still go back, reread, and add on to some of my favorite books, but that's a pretty big maybe.)
So, this blog is a little bit of me--because I've handpicked a lot of these books--and a lot of the authors I review. They are the ones that deserve the credit (whether or not I loved their book) because they truly put in all of the time and effort required to pour a little of themselves onto paper.
Please feel free to comment on the posts. I would LOVE to hear some input on stories I've reviewed. Suggestions are more than welcome--encouraged even!
If you don't want to post on my blog, go to my CONTACT ME page for more ways to get a hold of me.
In the meantime, happy reading!
Be transported and inspired.
